The Burlesque & Cabaret Social Club
Written on 4 July 2009 by RickThe Burlesque & Cabaret Social Club had their second event on Thursday 2nd July in The Sycamore, Temple Bar, a great venue hidden away near Meeting house Square, I only found it by following the guys and galls in their 1940’s atire! A great atmosphere , great bunch of people and an entertaining night all round…….with a cigar in my pocket a whiskey in my hand and the D300 round my neck I actualy managed to get some good shots! Selected shots from the night are available for viewing in the event section of my gallery.

Photographic Re-imagining
Written on 16 June 2009 by RickI have recently been archiving my photos to HDD (Hard disk drive) and whilst doing so have come across lots of old photo-shoots that I shot back in the day! some now over 10 years ago! One such shoot was a photo fashion editorial that I shot in a graveyard in Bolton back in 1998, looking through the original files I found some shots that I originally dismissed that I think now I am older and wiser may have potential. Using some new creative lighting techniques in photoshop I have given them a new lease of life, a modern twist and a new narrative. Don’t you just love it when that happens! It’s well worth re-visiting and re-imagining some of those older images, you never know what gems you may find. Now back to the archiving .

ABSOLUT BURLESQUE BALL-MAY 9th 2009
Written on 11 May 2009 by RickIt’s all gone Burlesque crazy at the moment! I have been very busy both shooting and editing all the photos from the May 9th Ball. If you attended the Ball I am sure you will agree that this was one of the best yet, a great night with a great show and top notch outfits, style and attitude that made the event such a great success. I had a fabulous evening photographing all the events and eventually relaxing and chatting to some very interesting people….you know who you are! My photos are now ready for viewing in the event section of my gallery and if you know me a little better they are also on facebook.
